Hello from the East end!

The other day I went for a walk to clear my head. I was in the Greenwich area and went through the foot tunnel!

I got lost (on purpose) for 2 hours as I felt overwhelmed by everything. Following Jesus is not easy!

On the way back I stopped for a tea at a little park and got talking to a nice guy called Tony!

I wasn’t sure if he was homeless or not but that didn’t really matter! He pointed to the sky-scrapers of the financial district and said

“Look, over there are all the big banks like Barkley’s”.

Inside I smiled at the fact that he mentioned Barkley’s as I have an older brother with a flashy job there (the one with a swimming pool and a large house with room for a pony!!!).

Anyway we sat down and he introduced me to Paul who was selling the tea. We had a great little chat and they were both full of love and encouragement. Paul had travelled the world seeking spirituality too, he got it!

The next day (Sunday) we were welcomed after church by a Nigerian prayer group who fed us and offered us a free 5 day trip to Nigeria in September to attend a charismatic retreat!

And then yesterday I became good friends with a Muslim girl from Nigeria and a Hindu from the Mauritius islands who had more love and kindness than anyone I’ve met before!

And so today as I reflect on it all I marvel at the ways of God which stretch across all peoples and countries and cultures and religions and once again He reminds us that we are all brothers and sisters!

And so you see I have no need to go to Barkley’s Bank to find my brother for Jesus has surrounded me with more brothers and sisters than I could ever ask for!

Sometimes we just have to let go of our old family to welcome in the new and simply pray for those who do not love and accept us!

Have a day of blessings!

Mike
