In Matthew 10, the first chapter of the Bible that I ever read Jesus says:

34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.

And what is true of a household also holds true for our church family where truly following Jesus will inevitably bring division and arguments and confusion etc.

We see it all the time, every apparition site like Lourdes or Medjugorje that is well accepted now started out with untold controversy and division within the church as people scrambled to determine what was of God and what was not!

Our Lady spoke to me this morning about all this which is opportune as my ministry is right in the middle of this type of trial!

Our Lady

My little children, you may wonder why God allows you to be attacked by others when you are in fact doing his will but this is all a part of how he works with you.

If you look to the lives of the martyrs and the saints you will not get discouraged or doubt but you will persevere boldly without hesitation.

The church my child is full of the older brother of the prodigal son and while the Father loves the older brother, he did not let his ungodly behaviour stop him from welcoming his lost son back to the fold.

And so it must be with you my children, love and pray for those who persecute you but continue your missions confidently and calmly and let your love and peace be a sign that it is from God.

Very simple words from Our Lady. We must love our enemies and yet not bow to their demands in the name of charity or peace because to do so would be to lack charity for the people that we would otherwise help.

If I was to stop talking tomorrow about LGBT people and give up on this ministry, some people in the church would be delighted but would Jesus be delighted and what about all the LGBT souls that Jesus loves and desires to help?

So you see giving up is not an option for me and my ministry and it may not be an option for you and whatever mission or ministry that God has given you.

The divisions and arguments that follow are of course sad and unfortunate and yet this is the gospel and none of us want to meet Jesus on judgement day and hear Matthew 33 quoted to us!

So let us keep on going come what may and be fearless apostles of love and mercy in these times.

Blessings to all!
